Looking back over my past outfits- I realize I have a bit of a color block.
For some reason, I am really drawn to neutrals- and seem a little afraid of color.
But, with spring upon us- and bright colors everywhere- I’ve decided I need to incorporate some color into my everyday look.
Today I’ve chosen this cute grey ruffle dress- and then added a bright yellow blazer over the top. To follow my rule of 3 (I must have 3 items in each outfit) I’ve added this cute colorful necklace.
To finish it off, I’ve chosen snakeskin wedges. I’m not 100% thrilled with this shoe choice, I love these shoes- but not sure it is warm enough for them.
Truth be told, I’m a little stumped on what shoes to wear with this outfit! Suggestions?
It’s Friday, so be sure to check out Fashion Friday over at Girlymama!

Outfit update- when I went outside and almost froze my toes off, I decided to switch to boots. Not as ‘springy’ but at least my feet are warm!

Dress: Anthropologie, Shoes: Marshalls, Blazer: Nordstrom, Necklace: Anthropologie (gift)
I have the same problem with color. I mostly wear black, and never wear pastel or bright colors unless it’s just a t-shirt and shorts. Recently I bought a multi-colored jewel-toned cardigan (at a thrift store). I get compliments every time I wear it. I think the blues and greens in the pattern make the move from black easier for me.
Thanks for your blog. I’m learning to layer!
I really like it with the black boots for a chilly spring day like today!
I also really like the boots. Super fun with the yellow jacket.
Great look ! and I’m not just saying that because I have a similar dress that I love dearly!…its one of those dresses I grab when I’m not sure what I am supposed to be wearing for something and the best part is its as comfy as wearing sweats !
