June 16th, A Bittersweet Ending

Hello Friends!

Today is sort of a sad day for me, because I need to stop writing Everyday Mom Style for a bit.

You may have noticed I haven’t been writing as regularly as before… I apologize for that. My life is so busy right now (like everyone else’s) and I think it’s time to take a little break.

A summer hiatus, if you will.

I have truly loved writing everyday- and sharing with you all what I’m wearing. It’s been a tremendous learning experience for me.

A pair of jeans and a blazer is one of my favorite looks! It’s so classic and easy to look pulled together.

I’ve learned what works for me, and what doesn’t.

I’ve learned that by putting in just a small amount of effort I can really change my look.

I’ve learned that I adore stripes, and blazers, and scarfs, and skinny jeans!

I’ve learned that spending a bit more on a classic well made piece is worth it (my white skinny pants from J Crew are a great example! I didn’t want to spend that much on a pair of jeans- but I wear them about once a week- so worth the price!).

I’ve learned that a great piece of jewelry can make an outfit.

I’ve learned that I like classic, traditional clothes!

But truly, most of what I’ve learned has come from you all.

Thank you so much for following me through this journey, for your kind comments, suggestions and giving me the confidence to do this! It’s been really fun!

Come back tomorrow to see my final post (which will be a review of the outfits of the month)!

And, you never know… come Fall, I may decide to start up again?!

  1. Thank you for helping me upgrade my look, and my life! Your posts are a joy to read and I wish you the best.

  2. Oh how I’ll miss you! You’ve been a great inspiration to me. I now know that taking the time to add that scarf, belt or statement necklace just might be what my outfit needs. You’ve taken my dress from plain and boring to polished and finished looking. I thank you for all your time. I believe in taking breaks so I wish you well in your time away from the blog. Selfishly I hope you are rejuvenated during this time and we’ll see you back here in the fall.

  3. Thanks for your inspiration! I always looked forward to checking out your outfits each day. Enjoy your summer and hope to see you back in the fall!

  4. Thanks for all your fabulous everyday mom style advice, Megan! I learned so much from you. You rock!

  6. My boring “mommy” style has been transformed by you Megan!! My sister Mary told me that I’m obcessed with you! She was right. When people comment on my clothing style, I defer the compliment to a gal named Megan in Seattle who has this fashion blog. If you
find that you miss blogging, we will gladly welcome you back!!! Thanks you for everything.

  7. Please leave your blog up for a while if you decide not to continue. I found you only recently and your photos have been so helpful! Hope you come back.

  9. You’ve been such an inspiration. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas, and have a great summer! Hope to see you back in the fall. I know how busy life is- maybe you could do a few posts a week instead of every day?? Just trying to convince you to return lol!

  10. Enjoy your summer, Megan! (It will be here soon.) I, too, have loved your blog and am glad I found it. Its so hard to read blogs from the east coast that have such different weather & regional style. I’ve loved your take on dressing up in the NW. See you this Fall!

  11. It won’t be the same without seeing your great emails in my inbox each morning. I am glad you are taking the time to enjoy the summer! I’ve really loved seeing what you feature each dayy and the greatat tips.

  13. Oh Megan I’m going to miss reading and learning from your blog! I really feel that you have helped me elevate my look from “frumpy mommy” to something a whole lot better. Plus, you’ve introduced me to the ever fabulous Puma flats, which forever in my mind are called “pump flats”. Yours has been the only fashion blog I’ve ever found that really made me feel that looking good was doable. And not this unobtainable thing that was filled with pieces I could never hope to own. I hope you come back in the fall , Thanks for everything.

  14. I have loved reading your blog and have been inspired by so many of your looks! Have a great break, Thanks! Sarah, UK

  15. I have truly enjoyed reading your blog and getting some outfit inspiration from you. Happy Summer, and I hope you come back in the fall relaxed and refreshed!

  16. I’ll miss reading your blog as well! I learned so much from you. It’s so much easier to go into my closet to select an outfit to wear. Enjoy your hiatus!

  17. I’m so sad! I’ve been anxiously waiting for your summer outfits – I live in the south and have been wearing shorts for 2 months now and need some serious inspiration. Enjoy your break and your summer! Your blog rocks and I’ll be waiting for you to return in the fall.

  18. Bummer! I don’t comment much, but I so enjoy checking out your outfits. It’s very helpful for style-impaired moms like myself. Ha! I hope you will make a comeback eventually. I can see how blogging daily would take up so much time. Maybe just once a week? Hope you have a great (and relaxing) summer!
