Oct 8th, Tailgate Party, (Or Not!)

Very basic, but classic fall outfit.
There is something about this sweater that I really love- it's so simple, yet cute even alone.

Today’s outfit is what I consider to be the quintessential weekend look- casual jeans, comfy boots, warm and cozy sweater. This is what Fall is all about! Wish I was going to a college football game to tailgate, but instead, once again I’ll be on the sidelines at soccer! Oh well… Such is life. Luckily it’s not supposed to rain!

On the right I’m showing the sweater alone, and added my leopard flats for a bit of flair. I actually think this works, especially when you see the back of this sweater. But, since I like to add a little something to each look, on the right I have layered my denim shirt underneath, added a pearl necklace and changed my shoes for these cute booties I just picked up at Marshall’s.

Now I’m ready for running errands, sitting on the sidelines, or maybe even going out to lunch?!

Have a great day!

How cute is this back with the buttons?! And, no, it's not on backwards (as my son asked!)
I love the fur trim on these booties!

Oct 6th, A Thing for Scarves

Outfit neutral? Throw on a colorful scarf!
I think the hemline on this is interesting enough it could be worn alone (without the scarf)

I’ve got a thing for scarves! Maybe it’s because I’m cold ALL THE TIME! Maybe because I wear so many neutral colors, it’s an easy way to bring new colors into my wardrobe. Maybe it’s because the hide my tummy when I’ve had too much to eat! Who knows? Who cares? As long as they are fashionable- you’ll see me in a scarf, a lot!

Today’s outfit is this gorgeous sweater with the asymmetrical hemline. It is a pretty purplish/ grey color and is as soft as a babies bottom. So comfy! My husband picked this up for me the other day, just ’cause. He does that occasionally, yes I know- I am a very lucky lady!

On the right I’m showing it alone- just paired with my skinny jeans and flats. I’ve thrown on a simple charm necklace and I think this looks fine just like this. But, because of my love for scarves, and because I love showing how simple it is to change a look-  on the left I’ve added this lovely silk scarf, 2 chain style necklaces and I changed into my booties to keep my feet warm!

I’m wearing the scarf open (which won’t do much good hiding the food baby), but wanted to show an alternative way to wear it. Below I show another way to wear it- just looped around my neck.

To achieve this look- put the scarf around your neck with the tails hanging behind you- then cross them in back and bring around front and tie loosely.
I love the colors in this scarf, so bright and cheerful on a grey rainy day!

Sept 22, Fur Real?

Fun outfit for a girl's night out!
This shirt just isn't doing it for me...

Pardon the lame title, but I struggle with coming up with a description of my outfit each day. Actually- this it my outfit for tonight.

I’m going to a friend’s jewelry party. I chose black skinny stretch pants as my base- then added a neutral shirt. On the right I’m showing my first option- which in my opinion doesn’t quite work. The long sleeves, high neckline and tight fit make this a little dated and frumpy.

On the left I have replaced this shirt with a much looser version. The neckline is a lot lower, there are cute button details and the sleeves also are an improvement. I added a cute necklace- and then to really play up the look added my faux fur vest. I love this vest- it just screams good times (maybe because I bought it for my 40th b day trip to Vegas).

Anyhow- I think this look is pretty cute… I’m wondering what a colored shirt would look like instead. Maybe a lovely plum. Stay tuned- I’ll try that in a few weeks.

The booties complete the girl's night out look!
