April 23rd, Monday Morning Rush

This will be another quick one. I have a meeting for work today, so I wanted to wear a dress. I’ve said this before, but I love dresses because they are the outfit.

It couldn’t be easier- just add a few accessories, and you are done! On a rushed Monday morning that is exactly what I needed!

I’ve added a cute belt to help define the waist, and then added this cool statement necklace.

To complete the look, I have on brown wedge sandals. I like brown shoes with blue outfits (rather than blue shoes… something is weird to me about blue shoes- blame it on Elvis!)

Linking up with Monday Mingle

The statement necklace ties the blue and the brown belt together. Plus, it gives this dress a focal point.

Since it’s a little chilly this morning- I threw on a cardigan to start the day off. I know, I know, Kelly (one of my regular readers) hates this cardigan. Sorry, but will keep me warm! 🙂

And yes, my toenails are blue. I know, it seems strange I have a thing about blue shoes yet I’ll paint my toenails blue. I’m a walking oxymoron!

Feb 28th, Work Dress

It’s been a while since I wore a dress, which is unusual since they are seriously one of my favorite things to wear (especially for work).

I find that a dress makes for such an easy outfit. No worries about matching top to bottom- it’s done for you!

Today I am showing how by just adding a few little extras, you can turn a plain dress into a stylish outfit.

As you can see on the right, this pretty blue dress has some gorgeous draping- but other than that it is very plain.

By adding a cute belt, a cardigan, necklace and boots- I’ve now made this into a work appropriate and stylish look.

This dress is so comfy, it's made a jersey material- so it isn't stiff and restricting, it's soft and fluid.

By the way, Happy Birthday Grams! Hope you have a great day!

Dec 9th, 30 for 30- Day 9

I’m working this morning, so I want to look professional, yet it’s Friday, so I imagine most people will be in jeans.

To solve that problem, I’ll combine the two! It’s like a mullet- business in front, party in back!

Except in my case, it’s business on top, party down below. No wait, that sounds perverted! Never mind!

You get the idea…

This outfit reminds me of my Jennifer Aniston inspired outfit that I wore here.

I’m wearing my casual boyfriend style jeans (I unrolled the hem) and this cute eggplant colored draped top. I’m a big fan of draping because it hides any bulges!

To make my look more professional, I threw on this blazer and a necklace.

A casual, yet office appropriate outfit for Friday! TGIF!

Sept 9th Flip Flop Lemon Drop

White jeans and bright top- make for a cute girl's night out!

This will be a short post- I’m rushing out the door to play in a golf tournament today- Play For Pink– but I figured that no one wants to see my golf outfit. So- since I’m going to a girl’s night out tonight- I thought I’d post the outfit that I will wear to that.

The event tonight is called Flip Flop Lemon Drop and although technically I should wear flip flops- it’s just not going to happen!

Here is what I’ll be wearing: my white jeans- still appropriate after Labor Day, a bright patterned top (with a draping neckline) and brown wedge heels. Since I like my outfits to have 3 elements (a tip I learned from Jessica Quick from What I Wore) I added my blue necklace.

I wonder if this would be cute with matchstick legged pants instead of the bootleg? Alas, I don’t have any- so this will have to do. What do you think?

Wish me luck in the golf tournament… I need it!

Love this pattern! I also love the draping at the neckline.

August 24th, Skirting Around Town

Pairing a casual skirt with a cute top and flats- perfect for running errands!

I love this outfit for many reasons! One, it’s extremely comfortable- which is always great. Two, I think it’s somewhat flattering. The length of the skirt is appropriate and I like the gathering (ruching) of this top around my tummy, after having 2 kids this is my problem area. This top does a nice job of hiding that. I also love my red flats and necklace that pull the whole look together.

I bought this Cookie Lee necklace from my friend Suz. I doubled it up to look cuter!Skirt and Top: Nordstrom, Shoes: Target, Necklace: Cookie Lee, Purse: JC Penny
