Jan 29th, More Shoe Options

It’s funny, whenever I do a post on shoes I get more comments than usual. I think it’s because so many of us suffer from foot (or back) issues- and we know how incredibly important it is to wear comfortable shoes.

To be honest, I get so tired of seeing other mom blogs with pictures of moms in stilettos. To me, that just doesn’t seem practical or reasonable. There is NO WAY I would (or could) wear those!

Yes, on days when I work I sometimes wear heels- but I am uncomfortable most of the day and rip those babies off as soon as I walk in the door of my house (and immediately put on my beloved Birkenstocks! LOL)

So anyway, after that rant I thought  you all might like to see more options for cute shoes that are also comfortable and realistic for moms!

These are made by Clark and can be found here! They can be worn with socks (which is nice in the winter), or tights and would look great with jeans (as long as they are NOT wide leg). Opt for straight leg, or better yet- skinny or boyfriend style!

Here is another style option, the Oxford.

These can be found here. Oxfords can also be worn with socks (as long as they are very low profile and can’t be seen), but are cuter with bare feet. Pair these with jeans (rolled at the ankle to look cute), or skirts.

Another cute style of shoe, the driver (or loafer as some people call them), which can be found here. These don’t work with socks- but are a cute substitute to ballet flats. They can be worn with anything as seen below in this great collage by The Glitter Guide.

A great alternative to my Puma’s are Chuck Taylors- these are super sporty and also really cute with jeans rolled at the ankle. They can be worn with socks but make sure they are very low profile.

Another cute, option- (also similar to the Pumas) are made by Clark and can be found here.

I could do this all day- there are a lot of options out there! My point is, don’t be fooled by pictures of Hollywood stars (or other mom style blogs) strutting around in their crazy high heels, believe me- they are wishing they could wear comfy shoes like us sensible moms! 🙂

By the way, if I missed a shoe that you want to share, please let me know!

April 30th, Month in Review

Well, it’s the end of another month! And here is what I wore. Let me know which was your favorite- or what inspired you- or what I should get rid of!

By the way, it’s Monday Mingle– so click here to see more inspiration.

March 31st, Month in Review

Good morning! It’s the end of the month, so here is a review of all my outfits for the month. Which one was your favorite? Which one was a bust?!

Please comment! I love hearing from readers- it truly makes me day! (even if you hate my outfit!)

March 24th, Auction Attire

I’m volunteering at our local hospital’s huge fundraising auction tonight, so I thought I’d show you what I’m wearing.

The auction will be pretty formal- but I also need to be comfy since I’ll be running around all night.

The key to that is my shoes. I’ve opted for my black wedge heels. They are stylish, but with the wedge heel- they will make is easy to be on my feet all night.

The dress I’ve chosen is one of my favorites. It’s a gorgeous blue color, made of viscose (rayon) so it’s super soft & comfy and the draped neckline is flattering. For accessories, I’m wearing necklace, black belt and bracelet.

A black bracelet adds to the look.

Sept 14th, Black and Blue

A silky top and comfy pants. A perfect outfit for lots of errands.
Untucked just doesn't seem to look as polished.

I never used to wear black and blue together- partly because they were my high school colors (go Lancers!), and partly because I was worried I’d look like a giant bruise! Thankfully, I’m over that- because these 2 colors actually really work well together.

I am going to be in and out of my car a bunch today, so I wanted something that was easy to wear, comfortable and I can maneuver easily in. I went with one of my favorite pants- these cute black ankle length ones. They are made of rayon, lycra and nylon- so the fabric literally bends with my body~ I love it! I also love that they are ankle length. In my mind there is something very Audrey Hepburn about these. Maybe not?!

I paired them with a bright blue silk top. Again- I went with comfort first. This top, being silk, feels like heaven! I have always worn it untucked- but today tried tucking it in (loosely) and actually like it so much better. To complete the look I threw on a skinny belt, a necklace and black flats. I then decided to change things up a bit and tried my new leopard flats. Which is cuter? You tell me!

I love having one unexpected item in an outfit. Today it's the leopard shoes!
