Nov 29, Three for Thursday- Fur Vest

I want to be cute and comfy today (I think I say that every day!). So I decided to go with my cream stretchy cords. They are so soft and so warm, perfect for a cold winter day. I love pairing black and cream together- it’s an easy, classic combination.

My first look on the right I have on a large, baggy black top. It’s not doing much for me- too loose, too boring.

On the left I have replaced it with this slimmer, long sleeve V neck black t shirt- and then to add warmth (and some style) I added my faux fur vest. To finish it off, I added a long pendant necklace that ties all the colors together. For my shoes I chose my desert booties. I can wear socks with these- so my feet are nice and toasty and the subtle color doesn’t distract from the rest of the outfit.

Now, being that it is Three for Thursday, I’ve decided to show you some other ways I’ve worn this faux fur vest. It’s a fun piece to have in your closet- a great little way to dress up an otherwise plain or boring outfit. Plus, it makes me so warm!

Oct 30th, Checked Shirt!

I have collected a few plaid/ checked shirts over the past year.

I really love the way they are preppy, but can also be great layering pieces.

Just be careful, alone a checked shirt can look a little too cowgirl or too grunge. My faded, baggy mom jeans and sensible black shoes aren’t helping much either!

On the left I have replaced my red plaid shirt with a cute blue and white one. I then switched the mom jeans for these dark skinny ones. I then decided to throw on my fur vest- loving the contrast of the preppy shirt with the rocker vest. To finish it off, I chose my light brown boots from Target.

It’s cute, funky and fun!

Enjoy your day!

Again, I have skipped jewelry… probably should add a bracelet or a little dainty necklace… something small and understated.

Nov 30th, Month in Review

Here is a review of all my outfits for the month! Click on any of them and it will take you to the slideshow (sorry mobile users- the slide show doesn’t work on phones- you have to actually go to my site!). Thanks! 🙂

Nov 2nd, What I Wore Wednesday

I’m linking up with both What I Wore Wednesday and Work it Wednesday– so if you have time, be sure to check out these other great sites.

Today I am showing my denim skirt worn 3 ways. Speaking of 3- I’ve mentioned this before but I like following the rule of 3. By this I mean I try to always have 3 items in the upper half of my outfit.

In my first look I’ve paired it with a black t shirt, silver necklace and my furry vest, affectionately named ‘the dog’ as seen here. I like this look because it’s edgy, yet doesn’t seem to far out of my comfort zone.

On the right is my next look- where I’ve paired the skirt with this brown sweater. To follow the rule of 3 I have a tank under the sweater and a necklace. This sweater has a lot of interest because of the pattern down the middle and the sleeves. Paired with brown boots- it’s a classic and safe outfit.

Lastly I’m showing a weekend look. I’ve paired it with a long sleeve pink t shirt over a white tank and then layered my white vest over for warmth. I’m wearing casual tennis like shoes- perfect for running errands or standing on the sidelines.

This skirt is a good alternative to jeans.
Love my dog!!
This sweater would look cute belted too.
