No time to write today, I’m rushing out the door for yet another basketball tournament!
I can’t decide which shoes to wear… I like the all black look on the left- they make my legs look longer, but then again the brown boots on the right are a fun alternative!
What do you think?
I love this oversize sweater, it’s so cozy!Sometimes it’s fun to mix brown and black together!
It’s not really a snow day today- but we did have some freezing rain that has coated our roof and grass with a slushy/ snowy substance, so I decided it was time to break out my Sorels.
I bought these (on sale at REI) right after the last snow storm- but have yet to have the occasion to wear them. So as soon as I saw the weather I was excited to have an excuse to break them out.
I think they are a great alternative to Uggs, don’t you?
On the right I have on my faded mom jeans with an oversize sweater and my Uggs. I say this a lot, but there just isn’t anything interesting about this look. It’s lacking a focal point.
On the left I have replaced the faded mom jeans with my dark skinnys (Madewell) and then added a long sleeve black t shirt under my sweater. I think this gives the look more balance. Seeing my arms sticking out under this huge sweater (on the right) just doesn’t look right to me.
I’ve also added this amazing statement necklace that my sweet hubby brought home last night- just cause. I tell ya, he’s a keeper!
I love these boots, but they make my feet look HUGE!
By the way, I am only 10 votes away from moving into the top 10 for Top Mommy Blogs! Wow! Thanks everyone.
If you have time (and want to) click on the button top right that says ‘vote for us’. You can vote every day, and it’s just one simple and quick click. Thanks! 🙂
Quick note- I have resisted wearing this sweater for a long time because it had gotten covered if fuzzy’s (you know what I mean?) so today I decided to shave it. I literally used my razor and shaved it, just like I’d shave my legs- and lo and behold the fuzzys came off! Wow! So simple. I just had to share!
Silly title, I know, but I’m at a loss for something better and this sweater sort of reminds me of my bathrobe.
It’s big and comfy but there’s something about this belt that isn’t quite working.
So what to do? Donate the sweater to the Goodwill.
Heck no! I’ll just untie the belt- and re-tie it in the back- opening up the sweater to make it look less like a robe and more like a fashionable over-size sweater.
To keep from looking enormous, be sure to pair it with skinny jeans or pants. (These look black in the picture, but they are actually very dark blue). Add a gorgeous scarf from J Crew, I am all set for a cozy weekend by the fire!
I should take my own advice and cut the tags off my scarf- it would look a lot cuter!
Jeans: Madewell, Sweater: Anthropologie, Scarf: J Crew, White T Shirt: Nordstrom, Boots: DSW
I’m feeling the need for something extremely cozy today. Maybe it’s because it was so cold, windy and wet out yesterday.
My first attempt is jeans, a white shirt and this oatmeal colored cardigan thing. However, it’s just too shapeless and dull. There’s nothing exciting about this look.
On the left is my re-worked outfit.
Rather than jeans, I’m wearing my black Sanctuary pants which are made of the softest cotton. Plus, they are very thick- so no skin could possibly show through.
On top I’ve replaced the limp cardigan with this large oversize oatmeal colored sweater. Here is why I love this sweater- I can eat WHATEVER I want for lunch and there will be absolutely no evidence of a ‘food baby’. This sucker hides all!
The key is to balance it out- since I’m going with skinny and fitted on bottom, I can go large on top.
To complete the look, I’ve added black boots, a necklace and a cool purse. I love the stud details. Gives my look a little ‘edge’ to it, don’t you think?
Do you have a favorite ‘go to’ outfit for days when you just want to be cozy, or just want to lounge around. Not that I’m lounging today. I’m working, I swear!
When wearing something large and oversize like this, be sure to balance the other half of the outfit with something very fitted!
Love this giant comfy sweater- the skinny jeans balance the look.
It’s a rainy Sunday- that means spending the day inside reading, watching movies, playing games and being comfy and cozy. Ideally, I’d like to stay in my pj’s all day, but I need to run to the grocery store, so I had to get dressed. I am wearing skinny jeans, a dark blue button-down cotton shirt and my one of my favorite weekend sweaters. I think it sort of looks like a bathrobe, (but in a good way?!) don’t you? It’s big, it’s warm and it’s so comfy. To add a tiny bit of style, I’m wearing my leopard ballet flats from Target and a charm necklace that my sister gave me. These simple additions show I put a little effort into my look.
The sweater is like a giant blanket- perfect for snugging up on the couch with a good book.
