April 21st, Saturday Casual

I know I used this same before picture last weekend– but it is so bad- and yet I see women dressed like this all the time- that I had to show it again.

Since I pointed out all the flaws last week- I won’t waste your time today.

Let’s just say that there isn’t anything redeeming about this look on the right (well, except for the color combo of orange and blue- which is one of my favorites!).

For a similar, yet a little more stylish look- try skinny jeans, ballet flats and a cute tissue t shirt from the gap.

Because it’s still chilly here in the Northwest, I’ve added this cute military style jacket. I love this piece- you can throw it on for casual wear- or layer it over a dress- it’s that versatile! Best part- I bought it at Marshalls!

What are your plans for today? I have NONE! Weird!! I’m not sure what to do with myself!

I've got on lots of layers today- a tank, a t shirt and then this jacket.

April 7th, Weekend Casual

My friend Stacey and I were talking the other day and she mentioned how hard it must be to dress cute everyday.

And she’s right, not only is it hard, but it’s unrealistic.

Some days I’m planning on working in the garage, or the yard, or whatever- and I don’t get dressed up.

Today is one of those days.

I’m planning on working around the house most of the day- and I want to be extremely comfortable- so I’ve opted for work out pants, a top and a jacket.

On the right you can see what the old me might have worn. This enormous over size sweatshirt does nothing for my figure- and the jeans and tennis shoes- surely we don’t have to go there again!

On the left I’m wearing my Lululemon grey yoga pants, a white tank, then a pink shirt over the tank and finally- a zip up sweatshirt to keep me warm. (Did I mention it’s 45 degrees here? ARGH!)

The fitted yoga pants and fitted sweatshirt are a much more pulled together look. The soft pink shirt adds some color to the outfit.

I know it’s not very fashionable, and I know no one will be inspired by this casual look- but I wanted to show what I really am wearing today!

Have a great day!

March 21st, Soft and Sweet

Today’s outfit isn’t earth shattering, but come to think of it- none of mine are! 🙂

But it’s a simple outfit that I think looks soft and sweet.

I think it’s because of this silk top with the ruffle neckline. It seems very dainty and ladylike to me!

The color is a muted blush pink, and paired with this soft grey boyfriend cardigan I think it makes for a simple, but cute look.

On the right you can see my original outfit- instead of the boyfriend cardigan I tried this cropped one.

While I do love this sweater, in my opinion, this outfit looks out of proportion. With the skinny jeans, I think I need the longer sweater to help provide some balance.

On my feet I have on my Tory Burch flats. These are a great pair of neutral flats- the snakeskin goes with everything.

To finish the look, I’ve added a necklace. I seem to do this almost every day- and believe me, a year ago I never wore necklaces! EVER!

However, I’ve accumulated quite a collection over the past year and I store them on a belt rack in my closet- so I can see them all at once. It makes it so much easier to just grab one and throw it on when they are easily accessible!

Don’t forget, it’s Wednesday, so be sure to check out the Pleated Poppy for more ideas!

A close up of the cute neckline and my necklace (which my sweet sisters made for me).
Such a simple, yet easy outfit.
