Today’s OOTD is this cute striped sweater from OC Style, a local (Seattle suburb) based in home boutique. I love this sweater because I am always a fan of stripes- and this one is soft and cozy in addition to being cute.
In the before picture I paired it with jeans that are too baggy at the knee- and tall boots. Personally, I don’t like tall boots, unless I’m wearing them with a dress, or maybe leggings, I feel like they cut my legs in half making them look short.
In my after look I have replaced the baggy jeans with these dark skinny Paige ones. I also replaced the tall boots with short booties (Sam Edelman), and the half tuck eliminates the straight line across my tummy- which gives visual interest.
Has this seemed like the longest week ever? It sure has to me. I traveled last weekend- and it literally took me until Wednesday to catch up on my sleep. I don’t know how people travel for work every week.
Today’s look is a great, easy weekend staple- leggings and a sweater. In my ‘before’ look my sweater (which I LOVE by the way) is too short for leggings. Also, my grey Uggs make my feet look clunky.
In my ‘after’ look, I have a striped sweater that is longer and covers me up more. I love this sweater because of the cute different stripe patterns (the sleeves, the sides and the front are all different). Not sure if you’ve noticed this about me yet, but I wear very few patterns. But stripes- oh yeah! I LOVE strips and can’t get enough of them.
The black tennis shoes take the attention away from my feet- and the continual black makes my legs look longer.
This is cute, casual and cozy! Perfect way to spend a Saturday.
As you all know I have an obsession with stripes! I just can’t get enough of them- and I apologize if you are getting bored with seeing me in stripes day after day…
Today I am wearing a blue and camel colored striped sweater. As you can see- the stripes on this sweater are much wider than I usually wear- and I will warn you that you have to be careful with stripes this wide- they can add bulk to your frame. That’s why I went with the skinny jeans- the contrast of large on top means the bottom must be small. It’s all about balance.
On the right I have left the sweater all alone- and simply paired it with skinny jeans and flats. I think this works- its plain, simple, yet I like it.
On the left I have added a light blue oxford shirt under the sweater, and then also switched out the ballet flats for my ever present Target brown boots! By adding the shirt underneath I have added a layer of interest- and warmth. I like the shirt tails peeking out under the sweater- and I love the boots because I can wear socks and my feet will be toasty warm all day!
