August 24, Maxi Dress

I have to say I have the BEST friends in the world- and I am so grateful for them. Yesterday, to keep my mind off my son being 2000 miles away, my friends Alice, Annie and Christy planned a girls day out of tennis, lunch & shopping. This is what I wore!

I started off with this cute grey maxi dress that I found at Marshalls for $20.

I love a maxi dress. It’s such an easy and comfy outfit- but a little plain on it’s own. So, I swapped out my flip flops for my cute snakeskin sandals. I then threw on my denim jacket (rolled the sleeves of course) and added a cute long necklace with a turquoise stone.

Have you noticed I’ve been finding some great stuff at Marshalls lately? I love that store! The key is going often and being very particular. I know what brands I like- and I study what is currently trending- and then see what I can find. Some days I walk away empty handed- and that’s ok!

My jacket is from Target (similar), the shoes are old and from Clarks, but here are some similar ones. The dress is Marshalls, but Here is a similar one I found on Amazon!

July 26, LBD

In my opinion, every girl (or, mom) should own at least 1 LBD (Little Black Dress). When you can’t think of anything else to wear, you can always throw on your LBD. Personally, I own at least 6…

Today I am showing 2 different cotton versions that are perfect for casual summer day.

Both of these are SUPER old- the one on the left is Lucky Brand. The one on the right is from Macy’s. Both are made of cotton- so comfy, casual and easy to wear. It is perfect for running errands, lunch out with friends or even date night.

Now I have to decide which one I will wear this evening…

July 15, Polka Dot Top

Blue and white are one of my favorite color combos. Today’s outfit is white jeans and a blue tank.

The changes I made to my OOTD are simple- first, I replaced the long white jeans with my cropped at the ankle distressed pair*. Already this looks a lot more summery.

Then I replaced the skin tight blue tank with a silk polka dot one. The pattern is fun, and I like the way the silk top hangs instead of clinging to my tummy. A cute brown braided belt and my slip on white sandals from Target complete the look.

*As a reminder, these are the jeans I distressed myself- it’s so easy to do! I bought these jeans at Value Village (sort of like Goodwill) and then distressed them to make them look more current. To read how, check out my post here.
