Hello Friends! A quick post today on my OOTD and a message that I won’t be posting for a few days as I am heading out of town to go visit my son at college for parents weekend! Woot hoot!
I’ve chosen to wear a grey maxi dress on the plane today. As many of you know, whenever I fly I always bring a scarf. It not only keeps me warm, but also comes in handy on my trip as a quick swim suit cover up or as a shawl. One note, when choosing a scarf, I always like a big bulky one- it looks so much better than a thin or skinny one.
As I mentioned yesterday, I’m off on another trip today, this time I’m heading to Vegas for the National Charity League national conference. For my plane journey, I’m wearing black jeans (as I did on my last trip), but this time I am pairing them with a cute v neck grey t shirt and my denim jacket. In the before photo I am wearing black joggers and a dark denim jacket. As much as I love those joggers- I will wear black jeans instead, since I want to pack light and can wear the jeans multiple times. I also plan on wearing the denim jacket a couple of times, and  I like the faded denim better than the dark wash. Rolling the sleeve of the denim jacket gives the outfit a casual vibe.Â
The grey shirt with the deeper v neck is more flattering than the white one on the left where the neckline is too high.
I’m also wearing slip on loafers- easy for going through security! Lastly, I will most definitely add a scarf- see photo below. The last trip I went on, I used my scarf almost every single day. It was so much colder than I thought it would be. Hopefully Vegas will be a bit warmer, but it’s always a good idea to keep a scarf in your bag for over air conditioned restaurants or hotel conference rooms!  This faux Burberry scarf is a great piece! It looks classy and can be draped over my shoulders as a shawl, or wrapped around my neck as seen here- or if I’m really desperate, can be a swim suit coverup!Â
Well, my trip to the desert has come to an end, and it’s time to go back to Seattle. For my journey home I am wearing skinny jeans, a white tank and my black blazer.
My after look is a little more stylish than the t shirt and jacket in the photo on the left. The neckline of the t shirt is too high, the jacket is too casual to be wearing with skinny jeans (it’s better suited for a workout), and the black boots are clunky.
This blazer is more polished – and the cute necklace, bracelets and slip on loafers (which will be easy going through security) complete the outfit. I’m carrying this large black bag as my carry on. It holds my laptop, Mer-sea wrap and everything else I’ll need for the flight- and best of all, I got this cute purse at H & M for about $20 (a few years ago)!
I think I’ve mentioned that we have been snowed in for days, and I can’t take it anymore- so I am getting out of town! I’m heading down to Palm Desert to see my folks for a few days, and hopefully get some much needed warmth and sunshine.
The before outfit is just a little boring, so to add some interest, I’ll tuck in my shirt, put on a belt and add cute booties. Since I’ll be on an airplane, (and I’m always cold on planes) I’ll need to add a little warmth by throwing on my Mer-sea shawl. This was a gift from my sister- and let me tell you, it is fabulous! Especially for traveling. First of all, it’s like having a blanket, it’s so cozy. Next, it has pockets! Oh yeah! Plus, it’s machine washable- which will be necessary after being on a plane. And (saving the best for last), it comes with its own little pillow case and can be folded up and turned into a pillow if I want to sleep! How cute is that?
When I arrive in the desert, I will put my Mer-sea shawl in my carry-on, roll up my sleeves and throw on my flip flops. Then I’ll be ready for the sun!
